ITINERARY DETAILS

Laikipia is a wide plateau that enjoys an interdependent relationship with the Ewaso Nyiro River, the Aberdare Mountains and Mount Kenya. Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and second highest mountain in Africa. It is a hotspot for climbing and hiking. The mountain is located in Mountain Kenya National Park. The highest peaks of the mountain are Batian (5199metres), Nelion (5188 metres) and Lenana (4985 metres). Some attractions at Mt.Kenya are pristine wilderness, lakes, tarns, glaciers and peaks of great beauty, mineral springs and wildlife of which are endangered and rare and those that have adapted to the high altitude .

Day 1 - Arrival Day-Nairobi-Sarova Panafric

Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and met by DSL staff and taken to your hotel for rest at the Sarova Panafric Hotel and briefed on your itinerary for the next day. Depending on the time you arrive in Kenya, Lunch and dinner will be added if you come in the morning. But if your flight arrives later in the evening dinner can be added for you on your request.

Day 2,3 - Nairobi-Laikipia-Ol pejeta Bush Camp

Picked early and taken to the Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Nanyuki. The flight leaves at 8.00 am. Picked at the airstrip at 9.50 am and taken to Ol Pejeta Bush Camp for check in. We are basically here at the camp for acclimatization prior to the Mt.Kenya climb.  

Day 4 - Mt.Kenya

In the morning we will be transferred from Ol Pejeta Bush Camp by Road to the start of our climb.We will travel to Sirimon start of our climb

Day 5 - Mt.kenya-Hall Tarn

We will reach the hall Tarn as we continue with our climb

Day 6 - Mt.kenya-Simba Tarn

We will reach Simba tarn as we continue with our climb

Day 7 - Mt.Kenya -Summit Lenana - Liki North

This day we will reach the lenana summit.Our Achievement.

Day 8 - Midday off via Sirimon Gate/Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

As we come down from the climb we will go to Ol Pejeta Bush Camp for rest. Here we will go and relax and reminisce of our adventure.

Day 9 - Ol Pejeta Bush Camp-Nairobi-Home

We will check out from the camp in the morning and at 12.25hrs we will take our flight back to Nairobi. You will be picked up by DSL van and taken to Panafric hotel for the day until later in the evening when you will be picked up by DSL van and taken to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
