Samburu Intrepids is luxurious tented lodge perched on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River and enjoys a unique perspective of one of Africa’s most remote and untamed wilderness. It is located deep inside the Samburu Reserve and guarantees encounters with elephants, leopard, giraffe, gerenuk antelope, Somali ostrich, grevy’s zebra and the majestic Beisa Oryx.

Accommodation

Samburu Intrepids has 27 modern tents with private views over the wildlife rich riverbanks. The tents are spacious offering the latest in luxury camping with four poster beds, handsome mahogany closets and writing desks with ensuite bathrooms with steaming hot showers. The bathrooms also offer twin washbasins, flush toilets and sockets for shavers and battery charging.

1. 30% of the staff at Samburu Intrepids come from the local Samburu community
2. Profits of Samburu Intrepids help in the development of the local primary school at Kiltamany, a bee keeping training project and cost price medical services for villagers from the area
3. Water heating is done by Solar power
4. Biodegradable waste is mulched for compost in the gardens
5. Non-degradable products is usually returned to Nairobi for proper disposal
